About Kirkwood in Bloom

The premise behind Kirkwood in BLOOM is based on our belief that the quality and unique characteristics of the public and private landscape contributes significantly to a community's quality of life and real estate values.

Kirkwood enjoys a history of being viewed by residents, business proprietors and visitors as a quaint and beautiful community. By concentrating on landscape projects that increase the quantity and quality of attractive plantings using appropriate trees, shrubs and flowers, Kirkwood in BLOOM will generate additional positive perceptions of our city.

Kirkwood in BLOOM was founded in early 2004 and is in the process of forming a 501c3 non-profit organization to administer this citizen-based effort. Funding for the program will be realized through a combination of private and public partnerships to secure the capital and management resources necessary to bring priority landscape projects to fruition.

As with all successful community-based efforts, it takes involvement and support from a number of groups and individuals including:

  • Citizens
  • Members of the business community
  • Community service organizations
  • Educators
  • Community leaders
  • Local, state and federal government agencies
